Princess Dnal and her Guard

Captain's Blog Stardate 201302.24

Captain Kirk and crew encounter hostilities while on a diplomatic contact mission to meet the Princess Dnal.

Princess Dnal's Guards are Black Hat Imperial Martians with swords that I cut the swords off and repositioned the arms and glued lasers to them. These miniatures were brittle so I had to be careful. A couple of arms snapped off, so I reattached them with super glue

Inexpensive Miniature Case II

Captain's Blog Stardate 201302.01

I finished this up this week:

I made a template in the shape of the interior of the case first and then used the template to cut out the foam. I used 1" foam for the part of the case that the miniatures are slid into and 1/2" foam for the lid. The cut doesn't have to be perfect because the foam will take the shape of the interior of the case. I then sprayed the foam and case with Rust-oleum Painter's Touch flat black paint.  When it dried, I hot glued the foam into the case. I then cut one of the free paint stirrers I picked up at the hardware store to fit the inside of the case to use as a guide for the slits I made to hold the miniatures.  This is what the case looked like in my last post.

Here are a couple of miniatures of my Black Hat Martians for my Private Little War Project:

Here are some pictues of my 1/1000 scale TOS Dragohawk project to go along with my Polar Lights Enterprise and D-7:

Miniature Case, Plants, and Rocks

Captain's Blog Stardate 201301.06

I made this miniature case awhile back from a bead case I bought at Michael’s Hobby store and some 1” foam cut to fit the case.  The case cost me around $11.50 and I don't remember how much the foam cost.  The cases were 50% off at Michael's this weekend, so I bought a couple more.

I bought some desert plants at Hobby Lobby over the weekend.

I have a friend who is making resin cast rock terrain.

This was my major project over the Christmas Holidays.  It took longer than expected because of the rain and I was working solo most of the time.  As a result, I didn't get much hobby stuff done, but that is okay.

A Private Little War Project

Captain's Blog Stardate 201212.23

A Private Little War has always been one of my favorite episodes, so now I am going to  game it with some slight alterations.
These huts will be for one of the tribes
These will be for one of the tribes

I am planning on using Black Hat's Imperial Martians for one tribe
And Black Hat's Askari for the other tribe

I am still working on my Romulan and Klingon shuttles, but progress is slow

Encounter at T’res Sed IV

Captain's Blog Stardate 201212.16

A buddy and I played a quick game last week using the Away Team rules.  I didn't write the game up, but I did take some pictrues:

The arid planet T'res Sed IV

Captain Sa-Cul

Commander Salek

The encounter ended with a victory for Commander Salek.

Aftermath

Captain's Blog Stardate 201210.23

Peaceful contact has been established with the Gorn after a disastrous first encounter on the outpost planet Cestus III.

The Imperials and Conquers have been cast, but I am still waiting on the mold for the Raptors to be completed.

The Raptors have ridges on their heads, which can easily be removed if one so chooses.

I still have to paint up the Conquers and Imperials, which will be done when I get a little more time (when soccer season is over).
